Upcoming Sessions
Restorative Justice, Empathy & Loving Engagement (BLM @ School Module 1)
(February 2022) Come together with other BPS educators to learn more about the guiding principles of Black Lives Matter at School. We will spend the first part of this session learning about the theory, then hear how educators are putting the theory into practice in their own schools/classrooms. For the final segment of the session, educators will plan how to bring ideas from this session into their own schools/classrooms. Join on Zoom on February 15 from 5:00 to 6:30.
To enroll, search for “Black Lives Matter” on Vector/TeachPoint.
Recommendation Form
Do you know a colleague who is already including the BLM @ School principles in their practice? Please tell us about them and we hope to invite them to share at a future session.
Module 1 (2/15/22)
Restorative Justice, Empathy & Loving Engagement (BLM @ School Module 1)
(February 2022) Thanks for joining us for Module 1 (Restorative Justice, Empathy, & Loving Engagement) on February 15. We had 26 people join the session and 100% of participants (20 out of 20 responses) said that they would recommend this session to a colleague. One participant's reaction: There are many ways to create a space of love, trust and justice in the classroom. I really appreciated seeing and hearing about everyone's ideas and also value the reminder that Restorative Justice is a way of being, not a protocol. I appreciate all the follow up resources. I agree we have much work to do in getting our school staff to "walk the walk".
