[Fox puppet walks onto screen and looks around.]
Fox: What a hot day… I need a drink of water!
[Fox puppet moves forward and suddenly drops down slightly (into the well).]
Fox: Oh no! I fell into a well!
[Fox puppet looks up, moving side to side.]
Fox: The water is cool… but how do I get out?
[Goat puppet walks onto screen.]
Goat: Hello, Fox! What are you doing down there?
[Fox puppet looks up quickly.]
Fox (cheerful): Oh, hello, Goat! This is the best water I’ve ever tasted!
Goat (curious): Really? Is it good?
Fox: It’s cool, fresh, and delicious! You should come down and try it!
[Goat puppet leans forward as if looking into the well.]
Goat: That sounds wonderful!
[Goat puppet jumps down next to Fox.]
Goat: Wow! You’re right—it’s great!
[Fox puppet shifts slightly, looking up.]
Fox: Now… how will we get out?
Goat (confused): Oh… I didn’t think about that…
[Fox puppet moves closer to Goat.]
Fox (quickly): I have an idea! You stand up on your back legs, and I’ll climb on you!
Goat: Okay!
[Goat puppet straightens upward.]
[Fox puppet climbs up Goat and moves to the top edge of the screen.]
Fox: Almost there…
[Fox puppet climbs out of the well.]
Fox (from above): Goodbye, Goat!
Goat (looking up): Wait! What about me?
[Fox puppet turns slightly away.]
Fox: If you had been as clever as you are eager, you would not have jumped in without thinking!
