Crow 2
[Crow 1 puppet flies onto the screen, looking around curiously.]
Crow 1 (excited, hopping): Oh! What’s this?
[Crow 2 puppet flies in and lands nearby.]
Crow 2 (leaning forward): What did you find?
[Crow 1 points toward an object.]
Crow 1 (eagerly): A jar! There must be food inside!
[Both crows move closer and peer into the jar.]
Crow 2 (peeking in): I see something at the bottom!
[Crow 1 tries to reach in with beak.]
Crow 1 (straining): I can’t quite reach it…
[Crow 2 nudges Crow 1 aside and tries.]
Crow 2 (pushing forward): Let me try!
[Both crows begin crowding each other.]
Crow 1 (annoyed, flapping wings): Hey! Don’t push!
Crow 2 (arguing, flapping back): You’re in my way!
[They both try at the same time, bumping into each other.]
Crow 1 (frustrated): Move over!
Crow 2 (snapping): No, you move!
[In the struggle, both crows lose balance.]
[Both puppets tumble or fall away from the jar. They land apart, slightly dazed.]
Crow 1 (groaning): Now we’ve both fallen…
Crow 2 (looking back at the jar): And we still didn’t get the food.
[Both crows slowly stand and look at each other.]
Crow 1 (quietly): Maybe we should have worked together.
Crow 2 (nodding): We might have succeeded.
[They both glance at the jar one last time, then turn away. Both puppets slowly exit.]
Crow 2 (final line): Quarreling brings loss to all.
