Characters:
Young Crab
Wise Turtle
[Young Crab puppet scuttles in from left, moving quickly and erratically.]
[Wise Turtle puppet enters slowly from right, moving steady and calm.]
Young Crab: Look at me! I can move sideways faster than anyone!
Wise Turtle: (slowly nods) Speed is good, Young Crab, but patience is just as important.
[Young Crab puppet scuttles in circles, showing excitement, then bumps into a small rock.]
Young Crab: Ouch! That hurt!
Wise Turtle: (puppet leans toward Young Crab) See? Rushing can cause trouble.
[Young Crab puppet peers into water, trying to grab a fish puppet but splashes and misses.]
Wise Turtle: (slowly extends puppet “flipper” toward pool) Watch carefully, plan your move, and try again.
Young Crab: (puppet pauses, then slowly reaches into pool and “catches” fish puppet) Hooray! I did it!
Wise Turtle: (nods wisely) Sometimes slowing down brings better results.
[Both puppets sit side by side on a “rock,” facing the audience.]
Young Crab: Thank you, Turtle. I learned that rushing isn’t always best.
Wise Turtle: And patience makes you stronger and wiser.
Young Crab: Patience and careful thinking can save you from mistakes.
