5.09 - Edit a test case during execution

This feature (from Squash TM 1.13 release) enables you to edit a test case during its execution in the Campaign workspace.

5.9.1 Edit a test case from the pop-up window or the OER interface

If a user wants to start or resume a test case execution in the Campaign workspace, he can edit the test case from the pop-up window or the OER interface.

Here is how to proceed :

Prerequisite: A campaign/iteration/test suite was created and test cases are associated with it.

  1. In the Campaign workspace, select a project, a campaign and an iteration

  2. Click on "Execution Plan"

3. Click on the name of the test case to execute and click on [New execution]

4. The execution consultation page opens with the possibility to run the execution with the pop-up window or the OER interface

5. On the pop-up or OER interface, before the execution begins, a button [Pen] enables you to edit the selected test case

6. Clicking on this button opens the selected test case in the Test Case workspace, enabling the user to edit it. Do not forget to confirm the modifications for each field. To resume the execution, click on [Back to execution]

7. On the pop-up window or OER interface, before the execution begins, a button [Pen] enables you to edit the selected step

8. Clicking on this button opens the selected step in the Test Case workspace, enabling the user to edit it. Do not forget to save the modifications. To resume the execution, click on [Back to execution]

9. The arrows on the right top of the screen enables the navigation between previous and next steps to edit them

10. Once having saved the modifications, click on [Back to execution]. The steps were edited.

5.9.2 Rights and clearances to edit a test case during execution

These are the profiles which have the rights to edit test cases during execution :

  • Administrator

  • Project leader

  • Advanced tester

  • Test runner

To activate or deactivate the modification of a test case during the execution of a project, you need to follow these steps :

    1. In the administration workspace, click on "Projects"

    2. Select a project

    3. On the main tab, in "Execution option", click on the switch to select "active" or "inactive"
