In the space Custom fields administration you can reach via [Custom Field Management], you can add or remove custom fields in Squash TM.
These customizable items are added accordingly to the aimed workspaces:
Requirement: custom fields are added to the General Informations unit.
Test case: custom fields are added to the Description unit.
Campaign, Iteration, Test suite: custom fields are added to the Custom fields unit.
Test Steps: custom fields are added to the test step in the Script tab.
There exist five kinds of custom fields:
Simple text field.
Checkbox.
Drop down menu.
Date
Rich Text Editor (RTE)
Tag
Numeric
To add a custom field to Squash TM, follow these instructions :
1. In the custom fields administration page, click on [Add a Custom Field].
2. A pop-up window in which you have to fill in the following fields opens up:
Name.
Label.
Code.
Input type: drop down menu which proposes « Plain text », « Checkbox », « Dropdown list », « Rich text »,
« Date », « Tag » and « Numeric ».
Value list for the input type « Checkbox » and « Dropdown list »
A checkbox "Optional" selected by default. If it is not selected, the field is mandatory when creating the related item
A field "Default value" for the input type « Plain text », « Checkbox », « Rich text », « Date », « Tag » and « Numeric ».
FOCUS
The « Name » of the custom field is what is displayed in the different tables of the administration space:

The dedicated tables of the custom fields tab of the project administration space.
The « Label » of the field is what is displayed in the workspaces detailed upper.
Here is a glimpse at what each pop-up looks like, according to the selected input type:
Plain Text:
Checkbox:
Dropdown List:
From Squash 1.20, colors can be added to the options of the dropdown lists. The colors added to the options will then be displayed in the charts edited through the Management Workspace.
Rich text:
Date:
Tag:
Numeric:
3. Click on [Ok]. The custom field is now added to the custom field table. It can be associated with a project as explained here.
FOCUS
For the custom fields of the input type « Dropdown list », it is necessary to add the choices that will be displayed in the drop down menu.
You can modify the name, the label, the code, the value by default, and the choices after the custom field creation.
To remove a custom field, follow these instructions :
1. In the custom field table, click on [basket] at the end of each line.
2. A pop-up window asking to confirm the action opens up.
3. Click on [Confirm]. The custom field table is refreshed. If the removed custom field was associated with a project, this association is removed as well.
To modify a custom field, follow these instructions :
1. In the custom field table, click on the name of the custom field you want to modify.
2. A page of level 2 opens up and displays a custom-field informations unit.
3. "Label", "Code", "Input type", "Optional" and "Default value" are the fields you may edit.
4. Click on [Back]. The page of level 2 closes. The custom field table is refreshed.
