12.03 - Xsquash configuration (Jira Plugin)

Prerequisites

Xsquash requires:

    • JIRA Server 7.2+

    • Squash TM version 1.17.3+

    • Squash REST API 1.0.1+

    • Xsquash4Jira 1.0.0+ : The Xsquash4Jira plugin must have been installed in SquashTM and configured for at least one project.

How to install Xsquash ?


    1. Connect to your dedicated JIRA instance as admin.

    2. Go to Jira Administration and choose Manage Apps. The additional components management screen should then display.

    3. Click on Find new apps in the menu on the left of the page.

    4. Search Xsquash on the Marketplace.

      1. The results of your search will include versions of the application compatible with your JIRA instance.

    5. Click on install to download and install the application.

    6. Click on Close to shut the window.

How to configure Xsquash ?

1.Configure a SquashTM server

To configure Xsquash, click on “admin menu > Add-ons”. In the menu on the left, search “Xsquash” and click on “Configuration”.

Xsquash allows to configure different Xsquash4Jira Jira servers from several different instances of SquashTM :

Click on the [Add] button in order to add a new SquashTM server :

In the form, you’ll need to specify :

  • The name of the server (any name)

  • The base url of SquashTM (the one you wish to link Xsquash to)

  • the name of the Jira Server in Squash TM which corresponds to this JIRA instance

  • The login for the SquashTM account to be used

  • The password for the SquashTM account to be used (the account connected to the login and password will be used for all of the plugin’s requests in SquashTM).

The name of the Jira server in the configuration must be identical to the name of a JIRA bugtracker declared in Squash TM and used for synchronizations.


2. Configure Xsquash on a Jira Project

The Xsquash plugin is independentely configured for each Jira Project.

In order to configure xsquash on a project, access "project parameters", look for Xsquash in the vertical menu and then click on Configuraton.

In order to configure a SquashTM server for a project, turn on Xsquash using the switch and then select a server in the list :

By default, the tabs to synchronise Squash data are titled "Squash TM's test cases" and "Squash TM's executions". The plugin enable you to rename those tabs to your liking in a Jira project.
