The Import function allows you to upload requirements into a selected project. The imported file must be in .xls, .xlsx or .xlsm format. Different rules must be followed and are detailed below.
Prerequisite: A project of the tree structure in Requirement workspace was selected. Being in the Requirement workspace.
Click on [Import/Export]. A drop down menu opens up:
2. Click on [Import] in the drop down menu. A pop-up window « Import Excel data » opens:
You can download the template to import successfully if you click on the link Download the import template (.xls)
Click on [Choose File] to choose the file to import
3. Click on [Simulate]. An import report is displayed, the tree structure will not be updated, but it enables you to check if the import file is correct. Import results can be downloaded via Download import log (xls), to check that requirements and their associated test cases have been correctly done.
4. Close the pop-up report and select a project. Click on [Import/Export], [Import], [Choose file] and select the file to import
5. Click on [Import]. A confirmation pop-up window report is displayed with the import file name that will be imported in the selected project.
6. Click on [Confirm]. When the file upload ends, a pop-up window opens up detailing the following information about requirements and links:
Successful rows
Rows with warning
Failed rows
The possibility to download the import results with the link Download import log (xls)
7. In the import log file, for each line, in the column "Type", there are three possibilities:
OK : row is successfully imported
F (= failure) : row is not imported
W (= warning) : there is an error with an explanation, row is imported but has been modified
8. Click on [Close] and refresh the page. Imported requirements are displayed in the selected project tree structure.
FOCUS
Before Squash TM 1.13 relase, to import the links between requirements and test cases, click on the button [Import], select [Import links] and then follow these steps
The import file must be in .xls, .xlsx or xlsm format for Squash TM to read it.
It also needs to respect the different rules listed below:
Imported excel files must have a table including the tags mentioned in the table below
Uploaded data are materialized by a tag/value couple
The tags must always be placed in first line (top-head of the table), no matter the order
Values are placed in lines below the first tag's line
The upload is made by line, no matter the order of the lines
Field names or the first column are not case sensitive
Empty lines are not interpreted
Cells can not be merged
The import file contains two tabs : REQUIREMENT and LINK_REQ_TC
REQUIREMENT tab enables you to fill in the information about the requirements to import. It contains the following described columns :
