4.06 - Test step details page

4.6.1 Test step details page overview

The test step details page is reachable from the button [Edit] (symbolized by a pencil icon) of the tab [Script] of the consultation page of a test case.

It is divided in two parts:

    • to the right, the step information: Action, Expected result, Custom fields, Attachments

    • to the left, the information about the requirements linked to the test case: linked requirements list, characteristics of the selected requirement

From this screen, it is possible to:

    • edit the step information in the 'Step information' section

    • add or remove attachments to the step (see the dedicated chapter) in the 'Attachments' section

  • add or remove associations between requirements and the test case in the 'Requirement which is linked to this test case' section (see the dedicated chapter)

  • add or remove associations between requirements and the step in the second column with the 'Link' icon of the Requirement which is linked to this test case' section (see the dedicated chapter)

  • consult the general information, the attributes and the description of the selected requirement in the 'Caracteristics of the selected requirement in the table' (read only)

  • add a step with [Add a step]

  • remove the current step with [Remove this step]

4.6.2 Edit a step

Prerequisite: A test case with a step was created.

  1. Select the test case in which you want to edit a step.

  2. On the test case consultation page, click on the Script tab.

  3. Click on [Edit] (symbolized by a pencil icon) for the step that you want to modify. The Test step details page opens up.

  4. Edit the rich editor fields "Actions" and "Expected results".

  5. Click on [Save]: the changes are saved.

FOCUS

If a user do not click on the button [Save], the changes made are lost.

An information message is associated with the buttons [Previous] ([<]) and [Next] ([>]): "your changes will be lost, if you don't save".
