Leucozona

The three species of Leucozona which occur in the UK all have obvious pale markings on the abdomen, making them amongst our most distinctive hoverflies. These are species found near stands of lush vegetation, with Leucozona lucorum being a characteristic hoverfly of damp woodland.

Leucozona glaucia - Local species with significantly less white on the abdomen than lucorum and no dark wing cloud, females with slate blue markings

Leucozona laternaria

Leucozona laternaria - Similar to glaucia but scutellum only yellow at tip.
