Size: 13-14mm

Species account: Female: A common if somewhat non-descript Andrena lacking clear diagnostic features. The large size immediately rules out most other species, and the scopae are long, pale and curly below and dark on top The thorax is pale brown, and at least some of the facial hairs are the same colour. . The abdomen has a fuzzy coverage of pale hairs which are brown most of the way down. The hind tibia is dark

Similar species: A.nigroaenea is very similar but has orange scopae.
