Roesel's Bush Cricket - Metrioptera roeseli
Habitat: Dunes, wetlands, coarse grassland
Size: 12-20mm
Species account: Formerly a scarce species of coastal areas, Roesel's Bush Cricket has recently dramatically extended its range, and is now widespread throughout the south of the UK. The colouration can be variable, but the pronotum is always pale edged. The song is a long ticking sound, and is remarkably similar to the song of Savi's Warbler.
