Hylaeus hyalinatus
Habitat: Gardens, parks and other open spaces
Size: 5.5-7mm
Species account: A common and widespread species, regularly found in gardens. Males have pale faces, and normal sized first antennal segments. The malar space (gap between eyes and mandibles is broad), as wide as width of antennal segment 4 and the face is covered in long hairs. The front margin of the mesopleura is raised/angular (see note on flickr photo) and the 1st tergite is only sparsely punctured.
Similar species: Several other Hylaeus species are similar, a combination of the characters described above should be used to confirm the identification
