Habitat: Gardens, parks and woodland

Size: Queen 16-18mm male 15mm

Species account: The cuckoo of Bombus pascuorum, this is a common and widespread species. Females have two yellow bands on the abdomen and a white tail with extensive yellowish side patches. Males are similar but the yellow on the tail is more extensive. All black males are particularly common in this species.
