Tech Task Force

After a break over the summer and fall it is time for the Tech Task Force to reform!

Wrentham's Tech Task Force was created in December of 2014 with the goal of developing a technology plan that would provide a vision for technology usage going forward. That goal was reached in June of 2015 with the creation of a five year technology plan that takes the district through the 2019/2020 school year. The Tech Task Force is charged with meeting at least twice during the school year to evaluate Wrentham's integration of technology, to adjust where necessary, and implement new technologies as they become available. All of this is done under the following guiding principles:

- Developing students that are responsible and creative digital citizens

- Positively impacting student learning

- Increasing collaboration and engagement across all levels

Do you have an interest in joining the Tech Task Force for this school year? While I hope members from previous years will continue to be part of the Task Force it is always great to have new and different perspectives join. Technology proficiency is not a requirement to join the Task Force. If you would like to be part of this years Task Force please email me by Wednesday, 1/18.

Some of the agenda items for this year's Tech Task Force are:

- Evaluate the 1st Grade iPad Pilot

- Evaluate the 2nd Grade Chromebook Pilot

- Evaluate our current projection/display technologies (Projectors, SmartBoards, Panels) and their impact on teaching and learning

- Review our first experience with MCAS computer-based testing in grades 3-6

- Determine the most effective time and method for technology PD delivery

- Determine Technology PD Goals for the 2017/2018 school year

- Discuss new and emerging technologies and their potential educational impact

If you are not inclined to participate here are two ways to support the Tech Task Force:

1. Complete this survey. This is the same link I sent out in early December. The survey closes on January 27th.

2. Be responsive if a member of the Tech Task Force asks for input.

For full disclosure, there will be some minor tasks to complete between meetings and there is no stipend.

Thank you for considering.
