End of the Year Tech Info

The end of the year is upon us! We are days away from the culmination of (hopefully) the most insane year of teaching and learning in our lives. At this point the bottom line is we made it. Thank you for being awesome and committed colleagues during this crazy school year! As you tie up loose ends and say good-bye to students there are technology related things we also need to wrap-up. 

Students

Returning Chromebooks for Students Learning In-Person: We are asking that all students learning in-person that borrowed a Chromebook from the district return them this Wednesday, June 16 after they get off the bus or exit their vehicle. Returning Chromebooks for Students Learning Remotely: We are asking that all students learning in-person that borrowed a Chromebook from the district return them this Friday, June 18 in the afternoon. **If a student does bring a Chromebook to your classroom, feel free to put it in the hallway and we will be by to get it.** Grade 6 Students: Students in Grade 6 will have their Google accounts disabled on June 30th as the head on to KP, I sent an email to them at 3:00pm on Monday, June 14th with details on how they can retain access to their filesGrade 5 Students: Students in Grade 5 will have their email access cut off over the summer. It will be re-enabled on Monday, August 30th.Access to Online Resources Over the Summer: Access to our various online resources will vary over the course of the summer. The main resources this summer, Reflex (up to Grade 4) will be available until August 20th and Freckle (all grades) will be available until August 27th.

Any Staff Member Not Returning

Turning in technology/access card

Professional or Paraprofessional staff not returning to the Wrentham Public Schools in the fall will need to return the following applicable items to Scott (located in the first office to the right after you enter the Vogel) by the end of the day this Friday, June 18th. Note, all technology not mentioned should be left in the classroom/office.
  • Laptop - including charger, bag, mouse, and laptop lock w/key
  • Chromebook - including charger
  • iPad assigned to you, not part of classroom set
  • Wireless headset w/USB adapter
  • Building access card
**This does not apply if you have made alternate arrangements to return items

Transferring Files from your WPS Google account to a personal Google account with Google Takeout

If you are leaving the Wrentham Public Schools, you can copy the contents of your Google Drive and transfer it to a personal Google account.

Paraprofessional Staff

All Paraprofessionals need to return the following items to the Delaney, Roderick, or Annex office by the end of the day this Friday, June 18th. A table will be placed outside each office after students leave on Friday, June 18th. 
  • Chromebook - including charger and mouse
  • Wireless headset w/USB adapter
**This does not apply if you have made alternate arrangements to return items

Staff Members Changing Classrooms/Roles

If you are changing classrooms for the upcoming school year the only technology you should take is your assigned laptop, assigned iPad, and/or assigned wireless headset. All other technology should be left in the classroom you are leaving and expect that similar technology is available in the classroom you are moving to. If you have any questions please let me know. 

Report Cards in Aspen

Report cards will be available to families starting after 3:00pm this coming Friday, June 18th. Families will receive an email between 3:00pm and 3:15pm alerting them that their student's report card has been published. If a family reaches out with a question about the record or they can't access their report card please have them complete the Aspen Family Portal Support form with their question

Security Camera Installations

Between Monday, June 21st and Friday, July 24 new security cameras will be installed district-wide. Every effort will be made have all interior work completed before ESY and the Wrentham Institute begins. Please send any questions to me.

Network downtime on Thursday, July 8th

We are attempting to complete all network maintenance in one day on Thursday, July 8th. Internet and network access will be significantly impacted within the Wrentham Public Schools buildings. Exterior access through the Netextender will also be significantly impacted. Please let me know if you have any questions.
