Gross Germy Chromebooks

Does the image above seem all to real these days? Our students tend not to be the most discerning sneezers with boogers regularly flying through the air of our classrooms. Even if we have cautious students, little germies tend to find their way into our bodies for at least a cold if not worse during this time of year. Our technology is on the frontlines of the germ way as students regularly come in contact with them. Here are a couple of ways to reassure yourself that things aren't as dirty as nasty as they could be:

  • Germs generally don't last without at carrier for more than 24 to 48 hours. This means that Chromebooks and other technology items are likely to be germ free after a weekend or especially February Vacation.
  • We recommend for security and accountability reasons to have students be assigned to a single Chromebook all year. This helps with germs as well. If a student is always using the same Chromebook they will not be spreading germs to their classmates.

Now, if that does not bring the warm tinglies then I have something more tangible for you. We have researched and confirmed that our classroom sprayers are safe for Chromebooks and the Google Expeditions. Here is a link to a Google Form you can complete if you would like your Chromebooks sprayed down by one of our classroom sprayers. All you'll need to do is leave the Chromebooks open and turned off on your student desks and they'll be sprayed.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Stay healthy!!!
