Freckle Passwords, Family Communication, & TTF!

Freckle now has passwords!

One of the new features Freckle released over the summer is the ability to set passwords for your students. After entering the class code, currently students simply click on a tile if they are younger or enter their first and last name if they are older and are then brought into the program. Unfortunately some students have chosen to be mischievous and found it is easy to access Freckle as a classmate and cleared their "piggy banks" or gotten questions purposefully wrong.

Freckle now has the ability to enable passwords for your entire class. If you'd like to have passwords enabled for your class I will be glad to do that for you. Just send me an email and let me know. The password will be the students normal password.

Family Communication

All of you do a great job of reaching out to the families of your students! At WPS we encourage two points of communication with families. The first is a page of the WPS Website. If you changed your role this year or are new to the school year you will need to update or create your page. Here is a guide to help you out. Please reach out to me if you have questions on your WPS webpage.

The second is whatever you use in bringing classroom news, information, and pictures to your families. You are welcome to use your page on the WPS website for this but you are also welcome to explore other online resources like Instagram, Twitter, ClassDojo, etc. If you do have an Instagram account I'd love to connect it to the WPS Instagram to help share the great things happening around the district.

WPS at the district and school level connects with families through the website, Facebook, Instagram, the WPS App, and various newsletters.

Technology Task Force forming for the 22/23 School Year

In October, the Tech Task Force (TTF) will be forming to complete its work for the 22/23 School Year. Anyone is welcome to participate on the TTF. Members from last year are welcomed back and new staff members are welcome to attend. Ideally there would be one person from each grade level or staff group but that is not required. If you are interested in participating in this year's TTF please let me know before Friday, October 7th. I'll reach out in the 2nd week of October to those that are interested in participating to schedule our first meeting.
