In-Class Technology Integration Support

In Wrentham, we are very fortunate to have a dynamic Technology Teacher for each of our schools. Jenn Moon is in the Delaney School and Heather Fox is in the Roderick School. Their main role is to equip students with the digital literacy and computer science skills they need to advance learning in the classrooms. Jenn and Heather do this most often through the Technology special they teach for all students K-6 by using appropriate curriculum to meet the DLCS standards. The students work on innovate projects and become thinkers, designers, creators, and innovators. They develop skills from typing to computer programming. It is helpful to have some of these skills frontloaded by Jenn and Heather so they are ready for classroom teachers to use in the future. However, it can be more impactful if these skills are paired with a specific project or learning opportunity in the classroom. This is where Jenn and Heather's role expands from their labs to your classrooms.

While Jenn and Heather's schedules are mostly filled out with teaching the Technology special they do have some availability to partner with classroom teachers whether in the classroom or in their labs to introduce, develop, or expand technology skills specific to what is happening in the classroom. Jenn and Heather can plan, design learning, co-teach, or lead a center among other activities. Below you will find their availability and the best way to connect with either of them.

Since schedules are tight. If you can't find a time to work with Jenn or Heather please feel free to reach out to me and I'll be glad to do what I can to support you.

Technology Curriculum Updates

Over the last year Jenn, Heather, Vanessa, and I have been working to update the Technology Curriculum. As that process wraps up we'll be sharing it out so you have an idea of everything that is covered and when it is covered during the school year.

Tech Task Force

The Tech Task Force will be forming again in a few weeks. Be on the lookout for more information in next week's Tech Tuesday message. In the meantime consider whether or not you'd like to participate and send me any questions you have.

Reflex Math

We still have Reflex Math! If your students have logged into Clever they may have noticed that the Reflex icon does not appear. Explore Learning, the parent company of Reflex, is now the icon you will need to click to access Reflex. After clicking the icon your students will proceed the same way as before. The icon is pictured to the right.
