It's Valentine's Day! To keep in the spirit of love and affection I considered writing an "Ode to Technology" to kick the blog off this week. I really adore many forms of technology but then I considered an important question, does technology love me back? Deep down I am a very sensitive guy. I show my computer, smartphone, and TV as much affection as possible but never receive anything in return. Even though I've been emotionally vulnerable with my technology, it never reciprocates. These thoughts had me feeling unnecessarily lonely on this holiday so centered on relationships. Then something marvelous happened; our wonderful Technology Teachers, Sue Traversi and Heather Fox walked into my office! It suddenly clicked! My affection is not for the technology itself, but for what it allows me to do and interact with! The desperate void of longing I held onto has now been released!
Sue and Heather do a tremendous job of working with our K-6 students in their Computer Labs, instilling in them skills needed to use technology responsibly and as a tool for communication and innovation. Did you know if you're not having the best relationship with technology in your classroom, they may be able to partner with you and/or your students to bring marvelous technology integration opportunities to your classroom? Even though their schedules are full Sue and Heather are ready and willing to work on technology integration with you. It does not matter if you are an experienced technology integrator or just starting out. If your schedules don't quite match-up feel free to reach out to me as well. Here are some ways you can utilize the three of us:
Heather has created a sign-up schedule for Roderick Teachers when she has some open spots in her schedule. Delaney teachers, email Sue for her availability. Any teacher can email me.
Heather put together an example of ways she can work with you and your students:
We look forward to continuing to work with you and your students!!!
