The CROP Hunger Walk is an annually held event in which groups come together to fight hunger and other challenges faced by those who are less fortunate. The walk was held at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, Virginia on Sunday, September 24, 2023. There were around sixty attendees and twelve groups total who participated in the walk. Together, $5,777.25 was raised. These funds will be sent to those in need, along with the funds from hundreds of other walks held throughout the U.S.

Several teams banded together to raise money for the CROP Hunger Walk, including Waynesboro High School and Fishburne Military School’s Key Clubs, as well as several churches. The walk was roughly 3 miles long and took the participants all throughout Waynesboro’s sprawling urban landscape. Several water stations were positioned at the mile marks for the courageous hunger fighters. The walk was open to all members of Waynesboro and even their dogs!

The purpose of the CROP Hunger Walk is to help raise money and awareness for the less fortunate. Before the walk began, a leader of one of the groups spoke on various descriptions of people around the world who are receiving the funds raised from these walks. Victims of disaster are growing back their lives with the help of the hunger fighters.
