On Monday, November 6th at 8:18 am, a man  tragically passed away due to a freak accident that involved an unmanned bulldozer.  The event happened at a construction site on the 1800 block of Lyndhurst Road. According to Sgt. Evan Bourne, a spokesperson for the Waynesboro police, a 59-year-old man from Harrisonburg was fatally struck by a bulldozer at the construction site. The bulldozer continued eastward into North Oak Lane, where it struck a house and Oak Hill United Methodist Church. In the 300 block of N. Oak Lane, it stopped. The identity of the man has not yet been released. According to the WPD, the construction worker who was struck by the car was declared deceased.  Suposedly the “unknown” man hopped out of the bulldozer and was waving a truck into the lot. He then soon realized that he didnt put  it in the right gear and he tried to jump back in. Unfortunately…it did not go as planned and the man sadly passed. The Occupational Health & Safety Administration sent investigators to the scene, and they are still conducting their investigation.
