An inside look at Waynesboro High School’s 2023 presidential election

Every year at Waynesboro High School, a senior presidential election will take place. This year was very close, with Faith Foster, Esmerelda Funes, and Cooper Mayo running against each other. The positions of vice president, secretary, and treasurer were also available. After a hard battle with her adversaries, Faith Foster won the position of senior class president. This election is managed by the assistant principal, Mrs. Cobb. There are absolutely no requirements at all for this election, allowing any senior to run for president if they want. The future president will advance with their own campaign strategy, and the candidate who gets the most votes will be announced as class president.

In order to "give the senior class an amazing and memorable last year of high school," Faith Foster, our new senior president, decided to run for office this year. Faith Foster would lead the senior class as senior president and organize events and field trips. Making sure that everyone participates in class activities and listening to what the majority of the class would like to do”. 

Our new senior president went through multiple challenges. For example she had to develop a campaign strategy and find a way to obtain votes. She discussed her ideas with her class and explained how she would carry them out in an effort to win their support. In the end, she explained her ideas and goals as class president and developed strategies to move forward and ensure an excellent year.
