Meet Lani!

Lani brings super amazing skills to journalism and I’m excited to tell you all more about

her. Lani was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia and she moved to Waynesboro, Virginia in 2016.

She is a sophomore in highschool and plans on attending clubs this year. The clubs she wants

to attend consists of Honor Council Club hosted by Mrs. Riggan and Passport Club hosted by

Mrs. Rudolph. Lani is involved in softball and has been playing since she was 12 years old. Lani

says her favorite part about playing softball is being able to communicate with her teammates.

Lani states that “communicating is very important” and she also loves to win! Her goal for the

end of the school year is to do well in her classes and obtain all A’s.This year she is taking

Geography 2 Honors, Honors English, Sports Med, and Journalism.

Lani recently applied for her first job at Summit Square and plans on working while

attending school. Her favorite part of the school year is “Spirit Week” and football season. Lani

states that this is her favorite part of the school year because “it is fun and something that

everyone enjoys”. Something she doesn’t enjoy about school is that they are somewhat strict

and she would like to have more freedom. After highschool, Lani plans on going to college for

sports medicine and will continue to play softball. Her favorite thing to do is hang out with her

boyfriend, Omir. Lani’s favorite subjects in school this year are Journalism and English. She is

really looking forward to the rest of the school year and excited to see what’s next in life!
