The C-47 is a military version of the DC-3 Dakota.
42-92847 'That’s All, Brother' was the lead aircraft during the main airborne invasion of Normandy in June 1944.
After WW2 it spent many years in civilian service before being sold as scrap. Fortunately it was rescued from the scrapyard and was restored to its 1944 configuration.
'That’s All, Brother' is operated by the Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing.
It is shown here arriving at Old Warden, Bedfordshire in June 2019 on part of its UK visit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
