The Hurricane first flew in November 1935. Alongside the Spitfire, the Hurricane is the most famous British fighter aircraft of WW2.
V7497 took part in the Battle of Britain and was shot down by a Messerschmitt Bf109 while on patrol over Kent in September 1940. The wrecked aircraft was subsequently located and recovered. Hawker Restorations then began a lengthy restoration.
G-HRLI made its first post-restoration flight from Duxford in August 2018 and wears the markings of V7497 of 501 (County of Gloucester) Sqn, RAF.
