The Sentinel is an airborne battlefield and ground surveillance aircraft based on the Bombardier Global Express business jet.
It was modified for the Royal Air Force by Raytheon in August 2001 and the production Sentinel made its first flight on 26th May 2004.
The Sentinel R Mk.1 entered operational service with 5 Squadron, RAF, in 2008.
