The Avro 504 first flew in September 1913 and was originally used as a fighter/bomber by the Royal Flying Corps but is more famous as a training aircraft.
E.3273 was built in 1918 and entered civilian service as G-ADEV after WW1.
During WW2 G-ADEV re-entered military service as a glider tug during radar trials. It is now part of the Shuttleworth Collection based at Old Warden, Bedfordshire.
Shown here, G-ADEV wears the night fighter markings of E.3273 of 77 Sqn RAF.
