The Sea Fury was a naval fighter-bomber that first flew in February 1945 and is one of the fastest single piston-engined aircraft ever produced. The T.20 was a two-seat training version for the Royal Navy, produced between 1950 and 1952.
G-CHFP was built in 1951 as WG655 and delivered to the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm before being used as a target tug in 1957. It was then sold to Germany, who also used it as a target tug. In remained in Germany before being withdrawn from use in 1976 and shipped to the Royal Navy Historic flight at Yeovilton as 910/GN.
In 1990, it suffered a wheels-up landing after an engine failure and then collided with a tree and was deemed a write-off. However, in 1993, it moved to the USA to be repaired as was re-registered as N20MD.
In 1998, G-CHFP was bought by The Fighter Collection, based at Duxford, Cambridgeshire before being sold to The Norwegian Historic Flight in 2018 but remains based at Duxford.
G-CHFP wears the markings of WG655/910 GN of the Fleet Air Arm.
