A general overview of Konohagakure that covers a little bit of everything!
NOTE: Konoha is explored extremely well in canon. Most of the Konohagakure tab is going to be for new information that concerns the servers' original lore - Unless said otherwise, expect the village culture, appearance, academy, etc. to function as it did in canon.
The Will of Fire. Konoha is the village of freedom and opportunity. In the eyes of Konoha members, they are the 'golden standard' for the world - Democracy, morally just, so on so forth. Konoha citizens hold high pride for their village and adore the land in which they inhabit. However, Konoha, beneath it's golden surface, has many flaws. They dip their hands into many conflicts, attempting to be mediators of situations they are not involved in.
This leads to half-solved issues across the planet as they try to imprint their own ideologies on every nation. Many problems are tackled with half-measures as Konoha doesn't understand the cultural or historical circumstances in these feuds. This is one of the main reasons why they don't get along with Kirigakure, the Hidden Leaf believing the Mists' way of living to be detestable. They are quite hypocritical, often performing the same heinous acts as other villages with rose-tainted glasses. Many of Konoha's misdeeds are swept under the rug or propagandised by the village media to be 'just', twisting the narrative. The greatest known example of this is the exploitation of Sunagakure. While it may not be as extreme as Kirigakure, they still abuse and take resources from an impoverished nation.
Konoha citizens are narcissistic, to say the least. Many villages view them as such. They tend to villainise targets quickly, pointing the blame on anyone but themselves. They do have more freedom, more democracy, a better life than anyone else. But there is still rot within this Land. The Uchiha suffer oppression everyday, their compound in a secluded segment of the village. They have been oppressed and looked down upon since the village's inception, only further accelerated due to the Uchiha's absence from the First Ninja War.
Located in the Land of Fire, Konohagakure is sandwiched between all four of the other Ninja villages and smaller nations. This gives Konoha the most access to any of the other villages, providing the most trade routes to the nation. However, as many boons as it provides, it is also seen as a bane due to the militaristic disadvantage it provides. Konoha is susceptible to attacks from all fronts. Fortunately, they have the might to hold their ground. In terms of climate, it resembles that of modern Japan, specifically Tokyo. They have the most balanced weather out of the Five villages, rarely experiencing extreme conditions, lest an international disaster befalls the continent. Many of the buildings are constructed with wood and stone, all fitted with electric lines for basic appliances and heating.
As shown in canon, Nin graduate from the academy aged 13. The academy in Konoha is relatively forgiving, unlike a lot of neighbouring villages. Once a rising Shinobi masters the academy techniques, they are granted the title 'Genin.' Citizens can apply to become a Shinobi at any age. The academy is an open training facility and considered a beacon for Ninja.
Konoha Citizens and Nin have the best living standards, second only to Kumogakure. A lot of the facilities in Konoha are high in quality and the streets are clean. The country is extremely rich, attributed to their favourable climate, extraction of resources from Sunagakure and dominance over the continent. You'll find that in Konoha, your life has been quite pleasant in comparison to other villages. That isn't to say life is like this for everyone. Uchiha are looked down upon within Konoha due to their withdrawal from the first Ninja war. They are sectioned off into a specific area within the village. (edited)
This is a tab for the history of Konoha your OC would be told. Some of it may be incorrect according to the servers' actual history.
WARRING STATES
Prior to the creation of Konoha, all countries in the Elemental Continent were experiencing a series of civil wars. Clans across each country battled constantly - Including that of the Land of Fire. Specifically the Uchiha and Senju. Centuries of war ravaged the land as the clans ferociously fought. The Uchiha performed heinous acts upon their neighboring clans, and even some clans in other countries. This lead to a bad reputation for the Uchiha during the Warring States.
Not much could be done as, next to the forming Uzumaki, they were the most powerful clan in the nation. Eventually, the Senju decided to put an end to the war. Uchiha Yusuke and Senju Hoeru band together, having an already established bond. They created the village hidden in the leaf. Hoeru believed the only way to show true unity was through collaborating with the Uchiha, a force seen as 'evil'. He believed that there was good in their hearts.
Clans flock to Konoha, the Warring States coming to an end. Neighbouring countries observe the rapid growth of Konoha, inspiring them to also follow suit. Slowly but surely, the villages were created. Konoha, Iwa, Kiri, Suna, and Kumo, alongside smaller nations sandwiched between the titans.
Life is peaceful for a time, Hoeru and Yusuke living in harmony. However, life wasn't easy for the Uchiha within the Leaf. Their reputation follows them despite Hoeru vouching for them. From the very beginning, life for the Uchiha in Konoha was doomed as they were shunned by their own 'people'.
In the midst of battle, Hoeru Senju dies, trying to protect his Genin team from a sudden appearance of a Bijuu, namely the Nine-tailed fox. His team consisted of a fellow Senju clansmen, an Uzumaki, and an Uchiha.
It is said that, during this fight, the Nine Tails was sealed into the Uzumaki present. That same Uzumaki returns to the Land of Whirlpools after paying respects to his deceased Sensei.
The Uzumaki are brutally murdered by Kirigakure, utilising a poison specifically engineered against their kind and seal releasing the Bijuu onto the Land of Whirlpools. Konoha immediately declared war on Kirigakure due to such a heinous and devastating attack.
Kiri claimed Kumogakure had helped in the assault, to which Kumo denied. To further prove their innocence, Kumogakure joined the war with Konoha against Kiri. The Land of Whirlpools was in waters between Kiri, Konoha and Kumo, the Land of Lightning deeming this as a basis that threatened their nation. What if Kiri also harnessed the Nine Tails in the assault? Would any nation be safe?
Though, prior to the war, an election for the second Hokage began. Uchiha Yusuke was the most promising and worthy candidate, of course. Especially for war. Yet, there was still discrimination of the Uchiha in-bound. He was merely told his position as head-of-ANBU was satisfactory as the people voted for Sarutobi Shinra.
The Uchiha chose to withdraw from the war entirely as a show of rebellion against Konoha. This has lead to their further discrimination in modern day -- The absence of their power lead to the war's prolongation. Kirigakure would have been defeated much easier with the Uchiha.
It is argued that Kirigakure was only defeated in the end due to the deployment of a mastered eight tails Jinchuriki from Kumo; The Cloud Village spending the duration of the war training a suitable host.
During the war, Shinra Sarutobi died. Uchiha Yusuke passed away shortly after the war due to old age and overuse of the Mangekyou Sharingan.
Both the students that Hoeru Senju saved survived till this day. For the last 20 years, Senju Kigen, a survivor due to Hoeru's efforts, maintains the position as Hokage and Uchiha Daien as the position of the Uchiha Head.
