CONCEALMENT AND SENSING RULES
Users with Detection can sense chakra signatures within a 5 metre radius of themselves. However, the sensory range will only notify the user that a signature is present, not its location.
Allows the user to conceal their chakra signature. While concealed, the user can only expend chakra equivalent to their SOUL per turn without breaking concealment.
I.E. The user has 20 SOUL. The user can only spend 20 chakra that turn without breaking concealment.
The ongoing cost of the Jutsu does not count towards this cap.
You can detect concealed enemies as long as their SOUL beats the SOUL of the concealed party. Stealth Jutsu boost ones' SOUL for concealment and sensory does the same.
Go to detection for more info.
Stealth and Sensory follow the same concealment bonus scaling as Genjutsu for customs / Canon Jutsu.
Stealth-hits are mostly RP-Based in how they land and are judged. Various factors determine how effective they are.
We will evaluate the logistics of a stealth hit and decide the injury done based on various factors, such as:
CONCEALMENT. Was the user concealed or not? ( Sensory ). Are they able to be perceived by other senses ( Hearing, vision, etc. )
CIRCUMSTANCE. The circumstances behind the hit. How much time did the user set this attack up for, how smart / tactful was the play? Are there any variables around that would make it harder to predict the attack?
OPPONENT. What does the opponent know? What can they do? Could they possibly clash or dodge the attack or react in any way?
DAMAGE. How severe is the actual attack? While we won’t be using potency as a 1:1 metric for the injury done, the sheer power in relation to the opponents’ resistance will be considered to a degree.
Stealth is too broad of a concept to narrow down with systems. They will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Stealth hits won’t be one-shotting often, unless the play is truly deserving of it, but more ‘minor’ rewards will be handed for stealth plays. ( Such as T1, T2, T3, T4 injuries, Clashing and dodging penalties, etc. ) as opposed to completely shutting them and making them 100% all-or-nothing.
As such, more tricky plays during the flow of battle are encouraged. Such as attack feints, utility techniques that may confuse opponents, so on and so forth. Stealth hits that don’t end the fight in one blow but serve to give the user an upperhand.
Do note that we will be looking at stealth hits that target the head / more vital areas with more scrutiny.
Please have faith in runners and their judgement when judging stealth hits. Please be reasonable and discuss circumstances with your opponents during roleplay.
NOTE for general roleplay. Pure sensory, unless you have the spec, without any Jutsu or conduits can only detect a signatures' general cardinal direction. It basically allows you to know if an enemy is present, not allowing you to attack or precisely locate them unless you have specific means to do so. Your five senses matter just as, if not, more than the sixth sense that is chakra sensory.
CONCEALED ACTIONS
Concealed actions is when you conceal the action OOC due to IRP play. Metagaming, while banned, is a subconscious thing that all players do when posting. If your opponent cannot see what you are doing, you are allowed to leave the action as blank and not tell your opponent what the action entailed.
You must, however, describe how it looked IRP. For example, someone could be prepping a Jutsu that is invisible, such as substitution Jutsu. You must still write into your post that a Jutsu was casted / Hand-seals were used, even though you could leave the action as "Action 5: ???". Same with utility / Hindering Genjutsu, you could not state the name of the Genjutsu, but can write the effects in roleplay.
This is best used to maintain the integrity of things like Genjutsu and shadowclones. By using this, you could have your OC hide behind a wall and have two shadowclones pounce from those two walls. Your enemy wouldn't know which one is the real or fake depending on how you write it and go about your actions.
This is all circumstantial in roleplay. You can only do this if you are certain your opponent wouldn't have the facilities to see you performing the Jutsu. Furthermore, if you continuously use an 'invisible' Jutsu, the hand-seals become recognisable to your target. This is why techniques such as substitution become less effective when setting up in plain sight at higher ranks.
To avoid bullshitting, concealed actions must be submitted in the ticket channels located at the bottom of the server. When performing a concealed action, you must state what the action was in your ticket to 'lock it in' after posting. The moderators can hold you accountable, and you can ask a moderator in your respective ticket if its a reasonable concealed action in that circumstance.
Once again, be reasonable. Do note that things like POW, AGL and SOL values have to always be stated if an attack is barreling towards an enemy.
