The central focus of this short contribution is to observe how the conditions in which we live in the present have always influenced our re-readings of history, thus creating new narratives. Today's great ecological issue – which immediately brings to mind the energy issue – is perhaps also causing us to change the historical narrative of the past, bringing some authors and works back to the surface and sinking others. And Barnabas Calder, in his Architecture. From Prehistory to Climate Emergency, seems to have realised this.
