Psst! We're moving!
Li Chu didn’t stay the night at home. Cheng Mi woke up in the middle of the night, and Li Chu was already gone from the bed next to her.
Cheng Mi thought that Li Chu knew she would stop her from going back to Chen Zhaochi, so she deliberately left while she was asleep.
The next day at school, during the long break, an “old acquaintance” she hadn’t seen in a long time came to find Cheng Mi.
Li Zhiyu appeared at her window, tapping his knuckles on the windowsill. He tilted his head at her: “Come out. I need to talk to you about something.”
Cheng Mi hadn’t seen Li Zhiyu at school for a while. She would occasionally run into Hong Mao at school, but Li Zhiyu hadn’t been to school at all.
Cheng Mi went out and stood face to face with Li Zhiyu at the end of the hallway.
Li Zhiyu got straight to the point: “What happened to Si Tingyan’s hand?”
“Did you go and see him?” Cheng Mi asked.
“No,” Li Zhiyu’s understanding of Si Tingyan was on par with Cheng Mi’s. “Do you think he would tell me if I asked?”
He really wouldn’t.
Si Tingyan’s wrist was injured by Chen Zhaochi. If Li Zhiyu found out, he would definitely go after Chen Zhaochi.
Chen Zhaochi was a sick person. It was not a good thing for Li Zhiyu to get involved in their business. Cheng Mi didn’t want to drag anyone else into it.
She said: “How do you know that I would know?”
“I don’t know if you’re with him every day,” Li Zhiyu’s gaze moved back from downstairs to her. “Do I need to tell you, Cheng Mi? Si Tingyan’s life, he just uses it up on you.”
Just like Si Tingyan, Li Zhiyu’s eyes were pitch black. When he looked directly at someone, there was a sharpness to his gaze.
He wasn’t testing her when he said this; he was absolutely certain of every word.
Si Tingyan’s life was just there for Cheng Mi to use up.
Cheng Mi knew this without Li Zhiyu having to say it.
But after hearing Li Zhiyu talk about Si Tingyan, Cheng Mi’s fingertips, which were on her crossed arms, still subconsciously scratched her arm lightly.
Her expression was still very calm. She said to Li Zhiyu: “Is that so?”
She didn’t admit it, and she didn’t deny it. She continued the topic, casually steering away from the topic of Si Tingyan’s injured wrist.
But Li Zhiyu was also a smart person. He circled back to the topic: “Do you think Si Tingyan’s hand injury has nothing to do with you?”
He said: “I won’t argue with you. Just tell me who it was.”
Li Zhiyu just wanted to protect his brother and not let anyone bully Si Tingyan.
Cheng Mi didn’t want to say more: “I don’t know.”
She knew her answer was very stiff. She herself thought it was unbelievable, and it was even more unlikely that Li Zhiyu would believe her.
Sure enough, Li Zhiyu spun his phone in his hand and didn’t believe her at all. He smiled faintly: “Do you think I won’t be able to find out if you don’t tell me?”
He probably knew that her mouth was hard to pry open when she didn’t want to say something. There was no point in asking her further.
Li Zhiyu didn’t waste any more effort. He didn’t force her. He left without even saying goodbye.
After Li Zhiyu left, Cheng Mi didn’t stay there either. She was going back to her classroom from the hallway.
As she passed the stairwell, she felt a familiar figure in her peripheral vision. She turned her head and saw Si Tingyan coming down from upstairs.
He wasn’t coming to find her. There were teachers with him.
Cheng Mi recognized those two faces. It was the principal and Si Tingyan’s lab teacher. The teacher was praising Si Tingyan to the principal. The principal was so happy his eyes were squinted into a line, and he patted Si Tingyan’s shoulder.
Si Tingyan’s posture was straight under his school uniform. His aura wasn’t overshadowed by the adults standing next to him at all.
He also saw Cheng Mi at first glance.
When Cheng Mi’s eyes glanced over, he was already looking at her.
Cheng Mi inexplicably remembered what Li Zhiyu had just said—that Si Tingyan’s life was just for her to use up.
She looked at Si Tingyan.
Si Tingyan’s eyes were like a black pool, bottomless.
Anyone who made eye contact with him for more than two seconds would back down, which was why very few girls dared to look at him so directly.
Cheng Mi was the exception. Not only did she look at him, but she had also kissed him back in his gaze.
It was break time now. There were many students playing and messing around nearby.
Cheng Mi’s gaze briefly fell on Si Tingyan’s lips, then moved back to his eyes.
Si Tingyan was also looking at her.
In the noisy crowd, they shared an unspoken secret.
Cheng Mi walked toward the stairwell. Si Tingyan came down from upstairs. The principal was still talking to Si Tingyan. The two of them arrived at the stairwell at the same time.
Cheng Mi deliberately ignored Si Tingyan’s burning gaze on her face and brushed past him.

Si Tingyan was kept at school very late by his lab teacher that night. He still hadn’t come back after Cheng Mi and Si Huiru had dinner.
After dinner, Cheng Mi had nothing to do. She stood outside for a while. She didn’t wait for Si Tingyan, so she just went back and took a shower.
As the midterms passed, the studies for Grade 12 got tighter, and more and more exam papers were handed out.
Cheng Mi had just finished a physics paper in her room after her shower when her door was opened.
Cheng Mi’s pen tip was just landing on an answer on the paper. She turned her head at the sound.
Sure enough, Si Tingyan had come to settle the score with her.
Cheng Mi rested her chin on her hand, her fingertips touching the side of her face. She spun the pen in her hand and smiled at him: “Perfect. I have a question to ask you.”
Si Tingyan was holding a plate of grapes. Si Huiru often washed some fruit and brought it to their rooms when they were studying. She probably had him bring the grapes to her.
Cheng Mi didn’t turn her head back. She watched Si Tingyan get closer.
Si Tingyan walked over and placed the porcelain plate on Cheng Mi’s desk.
Cheng Mi asked: “Did Auntie ask you to bring it in?”
Before she could finish her sentence, Si Tingyan grabbed her hand and pulled her up from the chair.
Before Cheng Mi could even react, Si Tingyan was kissing the back of her ear until it was hot.
Cheng Mi let him kiss her and laughed: “Are you crazy? I just didn’t say hi to you in the hallway?”
Si Tingyan’s tone was very indifferent and unrefusable: “Try not to say hi next time.”
Cheng Mi cupped his face, her hands on either side of his face. She looked at him: “What if I don’t say hi next time?”
Si Tingyan said: “Then try it now.”
He wouldn’t wait until next time to teach her a lesson.
Cheng Mi’s bed was next to her desk. With one turn, Si Tingyan could get her onto the bed.
But Si Tingyan didn’t.
Just like this, face to face, Cheng Mi’s clothes moved a little, and she soon felt his knuckles.
Si Tingyan was looking at her eyes. Without a single pause or hesitation, his actions were direct.
This was the first time Si Tingyan had done this. No matter how much Cheng Mi indulged in their passion, she paused for a moment.
But it was only a brief moment of distraction. Her heartbeat under her slip dress was not so gentle. It wasn’t long before Cheng Mi’s whole body went soft.
This was the hand of a student who could score a perfect score on an exam, a good student with excellent character and academics.
He was staring at every expression on her face, while his hands were doing the most lustful and indulgent things.
Cheng Mi found this side of him a little charming.
Si Tingyan’s expression was very restrained and calm, but he was also acting like a lunatic. Cheng Mi’s heart felt a slight twinge of pain.
She was composed, but her voice couldn’t help but be a little unstable: “How are you so skilled?”
Si Tingyan was still admiring every expression of her arousal like a pervert. His slightly indifferent and cold lips said the most unrestrained and lustful words.
“What if I told you that you appear in my dreams every day?”
Cheng Mi immediately understood what he meant.
Because he did this to her in his dreams every day, he was skilled.
Cheng Mi’s waist was held tightly in his embrace. She tilted her lips up and kissed his lips lightly: “Si Tingyan, do you think it looks good for you to say these things, considering you’re number one in your grade?”
“I would rather...” Si Tingyan suddenly said.
He looked into Cheng Mi’s eyes, answering her seriously: “...do this than get a perfect score.”
Si Tingyan was serious. Cheng Mi could tell.
He really thought that.
“Are you afraid of me?” Si Tingyan suddenly asked. But it was a question that only allowed for one answer.
He wouldn’t allow her to not like him.
Even if she didn’t like him, she had to accept him. She could only like him.
Cheng Mi leaned in and kissed his lips: “What am I afraid of?”
“Si Tingyan,” she slightly pulled away, her gaze moving from his lips to his eyes. “I’ll give you the daytime too.”

Si Tingyan was addicted to her like a drug. After Si Huiru went to sleep, he took her to his room.
It wasn’t excessive, but it was enough to be shocking.
Because Si Huiru was at home, they were a little more restrained. They would be caught eventually if they kept spending the night in each other’s rooms.
Cheng Mi had been sleeping well recently. She fell asleep quickly after returning to her own room.
Her thoughts fell into a state of chaos until she was pulled into a state of clarity by the buzzing of her phone in the middle of the night.
Cheng Mi’s phone was casually thrown on the bedside table. She fumbled for it. Her eyes squinted from the screen’s light.
When she focused and saw the caller ID, her confused thoughts suddenly cleared up a bit.
It was Li Chu calling.
Li Chu hadn’t been home since she left last night, and she didn’t answer when Cheng Mi called her.
She would never call Cheng Mi, let alone in the middle of the night.
What happened?
Cheng Mi didn’t hesitate for a second. She answered the phone directly: “Li Chu?”
But she didn’t hear Li Chu’s voice. Cheng Mi could hear very clearly that there was only heavy panting on the other end.
It was heavy and tired, like she was barely holding on, as if she had a serious injury.
The next second, Cheng Mi didn’t hear Li Chu’s voice.
Like a nightmare, Chen Zhaochi’s voice appeared in her ear, accompanied by a grunt: “I didn’t teach you a lesson, but you’re already finding people to teach me a lesson?”
“Li Zhiyu, Si Tingyan’s brother, right?”
Cheng Mi’s mind buzzed.
Chen Zhaochi’s voice was different from usual. It was broken and hoarse from cigarettes and alcohol. Cheng Mi finally came face to face with the crazy Chen Zhaochi that Li Chu had mentioned after his mother died.
And Li Zhiyu had run into his trap. Not just Li Zhiyu, all of them would be dragged to their funerals by Chen Zhaochi.
In fact, this day was bound to come sooner or later.
The madness that had been brewing for several days was now laced with the coldest of intentions. Chen Zhaochi said: “Get ready to bury yourselves, Cheng Mi.”
“Or, help Si Tingyan.”
Chen Zhaochi had been interested in playing games before, but now his patience was clearly gone.
In just a few short sentences, less than twenty seconds, Cheng Mi didn’t even have time to react or respond.
The phone hung up with a decisive click, and after the dial tone, there was only silence.
It was like a dream, or like a storm had swept through.
Cheng Mi stared at the ceiling, yet she wasn’t looking at it, but through it at something else.
Li Chu, Jiang Xunzhi, and Si Tingyan, who was in the room directly across from hers at this very moment.
A chill instantly crept into her heart.
