The next day, the two of them went to see Zhou Xi-you. Before they left, Zhou Shu-rong changed into a short skirt that reached her mid-thigh. Shen Ting-wen was immediately furious and told her to change. Zhou Shu-rong refused. She felt she could wear whatever she wanted; her parents didn’t control her, so why should he?

Shen Ting-wen asked her one last time, “Are you going to change or not?”

Zhou Shu-rong wouldn’t change. “You didn’t remove your tattoo when I asked you to, so why should you care what I wear?”

Shen Ting-wen stopped arguing with her. He grabbed her arm, pinned her to the sofa, and left two hickeys on her thigh.

Zhou Shu-rong looked in the mirror and felt like she could kill Shen Ting-wen. “Shen Ting-wen!”

Shen Ting-wen said calmly, “Let’s go. You don’t have to change anymore.”

Zhou Shu-rong slapped him on the neck. “Have some shame!” she said, before going back to her room and changing into a long skirt.

Shen Ting-wen thought his method was brilliant. He’d just do this from now on. If she insisted on wearing something revealing, he would just leave a mark on her.

At the hospital.

Zhou Shu-rong and Shen Ting-wen sat together, being grilled by their friends.

Zhou Xi-you narrowed her eyes. “You two are incredible. You got together and didn’t even tell us. We had to find out from other people!”

Liang Ji-fan also chimed in, “Exactly! I only knew a little bit earlier than them!”

Zhou Xi-you glared at him. “Don’t talk! You knew and didn’t tell me! Am I the only one who was kept in the dark?”

Li Gun raised his hand. “Me too.”

Zhou Xi-you was furious. “Just the two of us, huh? How could you two be so sneaky? Keeping it a secret for so long!”

Zhou Shu-rong said, “We didn’t intentionally hide it. I didn’t like him at first...”

“And you’re still talking about it! You didn’t like him at first, so how did you end up liking him?” Zhou Xi-you glared at Shen Ting-wen. “It must be you! You’re so shameless! I never thought you’d be like this!”

Liang Ji-fan agreed, “Exactly! You two are truly shameless!”

Zhou Xi-you glared at Liang Ji-fan. “Can you stop interrupting me?”

Liang Ji-fan said, “I’m helping you, aren’t I? Look at them. They hid it from us and now they’re talking back! How dare they!”

Zhou Xi-you gave him a look. “Just stop talking!”

Zhu Jia-yi had a question. “So, when did you two start dating?”

Both of them fell silent. Shen Ting-wen didn’t want to tell them, and Zhou Shu-rong found it embarrassing.

Zhou Xi-you started to pretend to cry. “Oh, husband, how did you get taken by Shen Ting-wen? Why can’t any girl perfectly avoid this jerk? Is it because a youth without falling for Shen Ting-wen isn’t a complete one?”

Li Gun held her hand and reminded her softly, “You’ve said enough for today.”

Zhou Xi-you pouted. “I’m just angry. I lost two boyfriends at the same time! I thought they had no chance!”

Everyone knew she was just joking and liked to talk nonsense, so no one said anything.

After being scolded, Shen Ting-wen and Zhou Shu-rong went home.

They were supposed to go their separate ways, but Shen Ting-wen whined and acted shamelessly, insisting on following her home. Zhou Shu-rong had no choice but to let him in again. The two of them had a quick meal and started playing video games.

They played PUBG. Zhou Shu-rong thought Shen Ting-wen knew how to play, but as soon as they landed, he started shouting, “Honey, there’s someone! There’s someone! A whole bunch of them!”

“Pick up a gun,” she said.

Shen Ting-wen pretended to be scared. “I don’t dare to go out. I’m scared.”

Zhou Shu-rong actually believed him and went to save him. She then taught him how to play, told him what attachments to pick up, and even conned a sniper rifle out of his hands.

Shen Ting-wen was very good at faking being a noob. He walked like a robot, taking one step and stopping for two, but somehow they managed to survive until the final circle.

In the final circle, Zhou Shu-rong killed a cheater. The cheater immediately started cussing on the mic. The cuss words were incredibly vulgar, so Shen Ting-wen stopped pretending. He killed the cheater’s teammates mercilessly and, after Zhou Shu-rong was knocked down, still managed to get them the win.

Zhou Shu-rong’s face was darker than a cloudy day. “You’re so good at pretending! Is this how you act when you’re scared?”

Shen Ting-wen looked hurt. “But I was scared then. You didn’t even ask if I knew how to play.”

“So you’re saying it’s my fault?”

Shen Ting-wen pouted. “I only know how to play a little bit.”

“You’re still pretending.”

Just as Zhou Shu-rong was about to hit him, the doorbell rang. She thought it was the water delivery and went to open the door. Shen Ting-wen, being a clingy person, followed her, resting his chin on her shoulder. She tried to push him away twice, but he wouldn’t budge.

As soon as the door opened, Si Wen and Zhou Yan were standing there. Before Zhou Shu-rong could react, Si Wen kicked Shen Ting-wen, knocking him to the ground.

Zhou Shu-rong was stunned. Why were they here?

Si Wen ignored her, walked in, grabbed Shen Ting-wen by the collar, and pulled him up.

Zhou Shu-rong came to her senses and, afraid someone would get killed, grabbed Si Wen’s hand. “Dad! Stop!”

Si Wen ignored her and kept his eyes on Shen Ting-wen. “I told you to protect her,” he said.

The next sentence was from Zhou Yan. “I didn’t tell you to date her.”

Zhou Shu-rong’s hand slowly let go of his wrist. What? What were they talking about?

Shen Ting-wen’s face was red from being choked. He managed to say, “Teacher...”
