THE PLAN:


The plan aims to make use of short films to introduce the English language to the kids, teaching them basic vocabulary in a fun way while being able to build a more extended dialogue and introduce  “Family” vocabulary

MATERIALS:


WARM-UP- 10 minutes

A short game, using something to be passed around (A paper ball, a small toy, anything). The person who has the toy will have to say their name and something they like that starts with their first letter.


Don’t tell them how the dynamic works at first! Give tips to help understand what is happening. In case they still don’t get it, explain.


Talk to the students about family. How many siblings do they have? Ask if they like cartoons, talk about the next activities.



INPUT- 15 minutes


Watching:


Tell the students to pay attention to the characters and their relationships. 


Show a family tree from the short film. Ask the students who is who in the family dynamics, let them answer in English. Good moment to comprehend their vocabulary on the topic. 


OUTPUT- 20 minutes


Activity:


Discussion about both short films.


 What were they about? What are your thoughts on them? What are the relationships between those characters? Is there any difference between the two families?


Listen to the student’s experiences and let them talk about their own families. Their fathers, mothers, siblings etc.


In case we have two classes:


Form two big groups, give both of them some paper and images of the families from both short movies. Let them create a family tree for each of them, writing on the board the words that should be used.
