A conditional jockey based with Trevor Hallett, whose stables were at Saltash in Cornwall, Sharon Pengelly had one win under National Hunt rules. That was at Lingfield Park on February 14, 1990, when Rose Of Peace, having lost her place at halfway, came with a strong run approaching the last flight and got up close home to land the Romeo Selling Hurdle by a length.
It was the second time Sharon had ridden the six-year-old but the first on the all-weather surface. They reappeared on the same course nine days later but were well beaten. Sharon had a few more rides thereafter without success.
