Edward Paget

1903 - 1963


Edward Catesby Paget was born on April 7, 1903. He was a top-class amateur who gained great success just before WW2.

He rode his first winner on Prince Regent at Pershore on May 6, 1930, then won on him again at Southwell next time out. He won four more times on Prince Regent in 1931.

Mr Paget finished second on Egremont behind Forbra in the 1932 Grand National.

He won the 1934 Liverpool Foxhunters' on Moorland View.

Mr Paget also trained a few horses of his own horses and won three races in 1934 on Merry Andrew.

He died in Kent on April 1, 1963, aged 59.
