Henry Pearl

Henry Pearl was a Newmarket-based jockey who achieved his greatest success at Epsom in the 1849 Great Metropolitan Handicap on Fernhill.

Subsequently, Henry was based in Malton, but he eventually returned to work in Newmarket. He died there of consumption on October 30, 1859, aged 28.

He was married in 1852, and an appeal was launched in 1860 for his widow, who was left destitute
