Halite is one of the most common elements and the most common salt. It is neutral in terms of ionity. It is a decent conductor of sound and a good conductor of radiation, while not conducting electricity, as do most salts in pure form.
Pure halite consists of pale, translucid, cubic crystals.
Halite can be found in great amounts diluted in seas and oceans, alongside nitre, oxygen and trace elements.
