Medusas are large, social, venomous snakes. Like cobras, they can spray their toxin, though that usually takes the shape of a mist. The toxin has a unique effect on keratin, where it turns it into salt, essentially creating a hardened crust off of fur, feathers, scales, pycnofibers or leather. However, the venom must be activated by a particular combination of energies, which is given off by the eyes of the medusas.
The eyes of medusas can shine beauty colored light, which, in high energies, will activate the saltifying toxin. Being social, they avoid looking at their peers as to not saltify them. They communicate by hissing.
Endemic to the Marble Archipelago, particularly to . They are strict carnivores, hunting primarily at night. They encircle prey in numbers, and slowly get closer and envelopping said prey with their toxic mist, only to finish them with deadly stares.
