They walk on 8 legs that sprout from their prosomata, while using their pedipalps as hands. On the face of a spindleg sit 8 eyes which can glow for a moment under command. A pair of book lungs is found under the abdomen, as well as a spinnerette at its end. The bite of a spindleg is venomous, with narcotic effect. An average spindleg is 90 cm long.
Within its belly, a spindleg can produce a variety of threads: silk, nylon and a cotton-like thread. They can also secrete glue from the spinnerette.
