A kind of horse or pony-sized cyclent native to the Road Galleries. These animals have smooth skin (usually in dark, cool colors), often with a white or golden lateral stripe on each side. Their back is appropriate for saddling and mounting, and on their head is a transversal crest that can serve as a windshield for a humanoid rider.
Fietbeests are gregarious and docile. Naturally, they live in herds leaded by a matriarch, which is the parent of all other members. When the matriarch dies, each living lineage will separate and become its own herd. Taming an natiarch will ease the taming of its subordinate fietbeests.
From the Dutch fiet bike + beest beast.
