Tsalacatim are plate-like bugs related to dragonflies. They are able to flutter their wings independently, allowing for precise movement in the air. Their 3 ocelli are positioned to look towards the top of their flattened body. Their legs are short and used solely for landing, and they are not prone to walk at all.
A tsalacat has a powerful musculature similar to that of a Barophore in bioalchemy, allowing for it to carry many times its own weight effortlessly.
Their nymphs crawl along the Milky Firmament and are not as disc-shaped. The imagos have a diametre of 80 centimetres.
In nature, Tsalacatim eat smaller wild angels, being predators from birth. However, they thrive much better when fed in cages, where their prey cannot outrun them. They are obedient insects, and make good companions, carrying people or objects on their flattened back.
From the Hebrew צלחת (tsalákhat), "plate".
