Immersing himself in Mumbai’s Malwani community, Sohaib chose to live alongside his students and their families. From his single-room dwelling in a crowded chawl, he became an integral part of their lives. Known fondly as “the eldest son” by one student’s family, Sohaib saw firsthand the barriers his students faced and was determined to bridge the gap between school and community. Over time, he built deep, trusting relationships, becoming a fixture in his students’ lives beyond the classroom.

Inspired by these bonds, Sohaib founded Community 1st Foundation, a center that has since reached over 2,000 students. The center serves as a safe space for academic and extracurricular growth, offering students opportunities they might never have had otherwise. His efforts continue to impact the lives of students and their families, creating a lasting legacy of community-driven support and empowerment.
