Probad’s Fellowship experience was rooted in his belief that education should be a tool for social change. Working in a high-need community, he saw the daily struggles his students faced and was determined to create a safe space for them to express themselves and discover their strengths. His classroom became a place of dialogue, where students could discuss not only academics but also personal and social challenges, building a sense of trust and community.
One student, in particular, emerged from a cycle of low self-esteem to become a community leader, a transformation Probad attributes to the student’s resilience and the supportive environment they created together. Now, Probad works on community outreach projects, sharing his insights on fostering inclusive spaces that encourage students to lead change within their own communities.
