When Amrutha joined Teach for India, she was one of the first to work with Grade 1, facing the challenge of managing 50 young children in a bustling classroom. With empathy as her guide, she spent time connecting with her students’ families, working with parents to build a supportive bridge between home and school. She even held extra community classes to ensure her students felt valued and nurtured, driven by the small victories and smiles that came her way each day.
After her fellowship, Amrutha transitioned to training teachers in government schools, facing initial resistance to new teaching methods. But by immersing herself in the local community and leading with compassion, she won the trust of her teams, who eventually embraced the changes. Amrutha continues her work in early education, advocating for environments where love and empathy lead learning, knowing that even the smallest acts of care can have the greatest impact.
