Foundations Of Art

My work shows how I’ve improved as an artist because it shows how I have become more creative and willing to do/try different designs and techniques. I think it also shows that I have improved physically on my pieces. I have also worked with a bunch of new materials that I have never used before, which has definitely helped me get a wider variety and perspective of how big art actually is.

Something that I found very challenging is thinking of something that will stand out in my art. I always try to make my art unique in some way and for it to stand out. I also try to make it special to me specifically and personally, but some projects are harder to make connections to me than others. Another thing that I find challenging is thinking of an artist statement for each of my projects. I usually just think of something and do it, and there usually isn't much of a thought process so having to copy down my process is a little difficult. Also sometimes my artwork doesn’t have a specific meaning behind it so that is also hard to identify.

Something I am most proud of is also what was most challenging. I am very proud of how I did manage to find a way to have some sort of creative pathway through my work. I am also proud of how many new materials I was able to work with and how well I worked with them. I didn’t realize that there were so many different materials and techniques that could affect your art so dramatically. I also think I managed to get some quality projects and all of my stuff in on time. Time management is usually a struggle for me so I am proud that I was able to finish everything.

An artist goal of mine for the summer and future is to keep up with my art and practice a lot of creativity. I also think that keeping up with the new techniques I have learned along with the new materials I have discovered would benefit my perspective on art and my overall ability. I also would like to find some more different ways to work with the materials I have and find new ways to make new patterns. I also would like to try to make some more realistic drawings that look like they could be a picture. So overall I would like to learn some more techniques and keep up with my artistic side so I don't lose anything/any skills for the following years.
