Realistic Self-Portrait

I chose/took this picture of me to draw because it looked easier and i liked how my hair looked. I also chose to wear a mask because I usually struggle with my mouth and nose on self portraits so the mask seemed easier for me to draw. This project relates to my life because it is a picture of me and it shows with the mask how things are right now.

This piece was made with 2H, 2B and 4B pencils. I made this piece by creating a graph on my reference picture and did the math on my drawing paper so that it was the same size and I worked square by square from the top left corner to to the bottom right corner.

I used the gird process that I just explained and I used this process because it is a lot easier and I think it made my self portrait look a lot more like me than my other ones have looked like in the past. My project evolved by becoming a grided paper to my face. If I were to add more to this piece I think I would fix my eyes because I think they look a little wierd.
