Artist Statement

The main idea that guided this piece is when we were talking about DC in class before she introduced the project and all the different pieces that are there. So I thought it would be appropriate to do the streets of DC in red white and blue. Considering that also is where the white house and all the memorials are.

I made this on Adobe Illustrator just by making different sized rectangles and lining them up using the picture behind it. Once I had all the streets outlined then I just deleted the picture from the background.

I originally wanted to paint this on canvas or Bristol Board but I realized since I didn't have much time to finish it that it would be a lot quicker top use my laptop. I usually would never pick to do something on here so it was a bit different.
