Circle Project

Artist Statement

We had to do something that involved circles and I wanted to do something that was unique and i thought of a steering wheel. I finished this quicker than I thought so I made another one with a shell because they are both connected to the ocean.

I used watercolor for the background and a fine point pen for the design i made with little dots. I made both of these on bristol board after I cut them into circles.

I first had to think of circle objects or things that I could draw and make look cool. I originally was debating whether I wanted the shape of the paper to be a part of the wheel, but I then realized it wouldn't work as well as I thought. I then decided to use the watercolor before the pen so it didn't smudge and it surprisingly took not a lot of time to do the shading and designs with little dots.
